Job summary

Benchmark Senior Living seeks a compassionate Programming/Activity Assistant to design and implement daily programs that meet residents' physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs, while supporting the Activity Director in all programming.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, training in recreational activities, knowledge of aging and dementia care, and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks with a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or higher and aging/disability knowledge.
• Experience with recreational activities training.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s/dementias.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks while staying positive.
• Maintains confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a seven-day activity program that engages residents.
• Lead individual, small group, and large group activities.
• Support independence and encourage participation.
• Understand resident backgrounds and needs to tailor activities.
• Monitor changes in residents' condition and report to Harbor Care Director.
• Stay with group during excursions.
