Job summary

You will collaborate with the activities director, recruit volunteers, maintain records, and help create an inclusive atmosphere that fosters community and joyful daily life for seniors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g., recreation therapy, gerontology) preferred.
• Prior experience working with seniors or in a healthcare setting (n/a).
• Proven ability to plan and implement activities that engage and enrich the lives of seniors.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement recreational activities, including social events, games, and outings, to promote resident engagement and satisfaction.
• Collaborate with the activities director to develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that meets the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
• Recruit and supervise volunteers to assist with activities and events.
• Create and maintain a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that encourages socialization and community building among residents.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure seamless delivery of activities and services.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and resident feedback.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
