Job summary

Christie Rehabilitation Community is seeking an Activities Coordinator to design and lead a dynamic activities program that enhances residents’ physical, emotional, and social well-being. You’ll supervise a small team of Activity Assistants and work with interdisciplinary staff to keep residents engaged and connected.

The role emphasizes creativity, compassion, and a people-first approach, with a Sunday-Thursday 8:30am-5pm schedule and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with older adults in long-term care.
• CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Create & Lead Programs: Plan and implement recreational, therapeutic, and social activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
• Resident-Centered Planning: Conduct regular assessments to personalize activities for inclusivity of all cognitive and physical levels.
• Special Events & Outings: Organize events, holidays, and outings; drive residents when needed.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work with nursing, therapy, and social services to align activities with care plans.
