Job summary

The Film Market is seeking a Senior Broadcast Operations Technician to lead the live broadcast operations for headline newscasts and programming. This role requires expertise in either Production/Directing or Master Control, with the ability to cross-train across both areas.

You will help ensure seamless broadcasts and maintain high-quality operations across teams including Production, Engineering, and News.

Qualifications

• 4–5+ years of senior level experience in live broadcast operations
• Expertise in either Production/Directing or Master Control, with willingness to cross-train
• Proficiency with automation systems (Sony ELC) and/or Master Control platforms (Evertz Mediator)
• Advanced knowledge of control room operations (switcher, audio, robotics) and/or Master Control workflows (playlisting, routing, signal monitoring)
• Experience directing streaming productions (Tricaster) is a plus
• Proven ability to execute complex live broadcasts with accuracy and reliability
• Strong decision‑making skills in high-pressure, on-air environments
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities
• Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
• Proficiency with standard computer applications (Microsoft Office)
• Varied shifts, OT, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Ensure seamless execution of newscasts and programming across Production/Directing and Master Control environments
• Cross-train and grow across Production/Directing and Master Control roles
• Maintain broadcast quality and operational efficiency while coordinating with Production, Engineering, and News teams
