Job summary

Roku, Inc. is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Litigation to join our Legal team. This role owns Roku’s litigation portfolio outside of IP, including consumer class actions, commercial disputes, and government investigations, with emphasis on privacy-related matters across hardware, streaming, and advertising.

You'll manage disputes end-to-end, set strategy, direct outside counsel, and decide when to fight, settle, or escalate. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience managing complex litigation at a top-tier firm or in-house.
• Ability to develop litigation strategy and manage outside counsel to outcomes.
• Creative problem-solving with novel legal theories and flexible approach.
• Comfort operating with incomplete facts and unsettled law.
• Exceptional legal writing and clear, persuasive communication.
• Experience in high-growth technology or media companies.

Responsibilities

• Own Roku’s corporate litigation portfolio outside IP, including consumer class actions, commercial and contract disputes, and privacy-related claims.
• Define case strategy and recommendations on litigation decisions with senior lawyers.
• Manage government investigations and regulatory matters across privacy, consumer protection, and advertising.
• Develop novel legal theories and creative litigation strategies.
• Build scalable litigation processes and manage outside counsel relationships.
• Advise Product, Engineering, Ads, Data/Analytics, and Compliance teams on litigation risk.
• Provide reporting on litigation exposure, trends, and key matters to leadership.
