Job summary

Mandelbaum Barrett PC in New York, NY is seeking a seasoned Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys across personal injury, civil, commercial, and employment matters in NJ, NY, and CT courts. You will draft and review legal documents, manage discovery, coordinate filings, and help shape case strategy.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, a bachelor's degree or paralegal certification, and strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal or legal assistant supporting complex cases.
• Bachelor's degree in legal studies, paralegal certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with legal document management, billing, or practice management systems preferred.
• Knowledge of state and federal court e-filing systems.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and edit legal documents, including briefs, motions, discovery requests, and subpoenas, under attorney supervision.
• Organize and maintain case files, discovery materials, and evidence.
• Obtain, review, and summarize medical records, bills, and other case-related documents.
• Coordinate with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, witnesses, and experts.
• File documents electronically in state and federal courts via E-Courts and PACER.
• Assist attorneys with trial preparation, client communications, and case strategy.
• Prepare settlement packages, trial binders, and exhibits for hearings or trials.
• Track and report billable hours; assist with invoicing as needed.
• Support the litigation team with other case-related tasks as required.
• Flexibility to work overtime to meet deadlines or court requirements.
