The Opportunity, a national litigation law firm, seeks an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its Chicago office. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting complex civil litigation matters, managing case files, coordinating discovery, and preparing cases for trial.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of litigation paralegal experience.
• Experience supporting complex civil litigation matters through discovery and trial.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, and ability to manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary liaison between attorneys, clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties.
• Organize, maintain, and manage litigation case files and supporting documentation.
• Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, interrogatories, and related filings.
• Conduct legal and case-specific research to support litigation matters.
• Coordinate all phases of discovery, including document collection, review, organization, and production.
• Assist attorneys with deposition preparation, witness coordination, and pre-trial case development.
• Prepare trial materials including exhibits, witness binders, demonstrative evidence, and hearing notebooks.
• Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, court appearances, and client meetings.
• Maintain litigation calendars and monitor court deadlines to ensure timely filings.
• Support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation from case inception through trial.
