Job summary

Orion Placement seeks an experienced litigation paralegal for plaintiff-side personal injury cases in Los Angeles. You will own case management from filing through trial, drafting and filing pleadings, discovery, and trial documents while keeping matters organized and moving forward.

You will mentor legal assistants and collaborate with attorneys, clients, and staff to move high-value matters efficiently and deliver exceptional client service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience.
• Strong knowledge of California civil procedure and state court filing requirements.
• Experience drafting pleadings, discovery, deposition notices, subpoenas, and litigation documents.
• Excellent calendaring and deadline management skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple active cases and priorities.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and client communication skills.
• Experience supervising or mentoring legal assistants.
• Plaintiff side personal injury experience strongly preferred.
• Spanish speaking ability is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file trial documents and support attorneys throughout trial preparation.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and vendors.
• Identify procedural issues early and proactively resolve case management problems.
• Supervise, mentor, and delegate work to assigned legal assistants.

• Take a key role in sophisticated plaintiff side personal injury litigation involving catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, TBI, trucking, motorcycle, rideshare, and pedestrian cases.
• Own meaningful litigation responsibilities from filing through trial rather than being limited to administrative support.
• Work closely with experienced trial attorneys while becoming a trusted resource for litigation procedure, calendaring, discovery, and case management.
• Lead and mentor legal assistants while strengthening your own leadership experience.

Note

Candidates must have 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience and strong working knowledge of California civil procedure, discovery, court filings, calendaring, and litigation deadlines. Plaintiff side personal injury experience is strongly preferred.
