Job summary

The Atlanta office of Cozen O’Connor is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal to support the attorneys in the Global Insurance Department. The candidate should be highly organized, self-starter with strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, experience handling complex matters and the ability to prioritize and balance a variety of tasks.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of litigation experience and thrives in a fast-paced, high intensity environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a high-volume litigation environment.
• Four-year college degree and/or paralegal certificate required.
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing evidence and scheduling witnesses.
• Prepare pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and records release authorizations.
• Oversee discovery, analyze medical records, schedule depositions, organize documents, file pleadings and privilege logs.
• Maintain strong communications with attorneys, clients and witnesses.
• Perform factual research and use databases to research and organize information.
• Be proficient in using LEXIS, Westlaw and other online research databases.
• Stay current on e-discovery developments, including collecting and producing electronically stored information.
• Proficiency in PACER, Relativity, billing and case management software, Adobe Acrobat, and Trial Director preferred.
