Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal assistant in Florida.
• Familiarity with state and federal court rules.
• Proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; proficiency with court e-filing systems.
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology, processes, and court rules/procedures.

Responsibilities

• Calendaring state and federal court deadlines
• Preparing basic notices, filings, and correspondence
• Proofreading letters, motions, discovery, and pleadings
• E-filing in state and federal courts
• Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, vendors
• Scheduling and preparing for hearings, depositions, mediations, and meetings
• Pulling and organizing cases from Westlaw
• Conducting internet research
• Maintaining organized and accurate case files, both physical and electronic
• Preserving confidentiality, sensitivity and discretion when handling client matters
• Assisting with administrative tasks
