Job summary

Fairfield Residential seeks an Associate General Counsel - Litigation to oversee Fairfield’s litigation portfolio and support risk management across property operations, construction, development, and contracting. Based at our San Diego corporate office, this role requires hybrid in-office attendance within commuting distance of the Sorrento Valley office.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active California bar admission.
• At least 10 years of litigation experience with portfolio-level management.
• Experience coordinating with outside counsel and insurers on complex matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee litigation and dispute resolution across the portfolio.
• Direct litigation and settlement strategy with outside counsel.
• Handle construction, contract, premises liability, habitability, and related claims.
• Provide updates on litigation exposure, status, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with risk management on insurance coverage and risk transfer provisions.
