Job summary

Lennar is seeking a Legal Counsel – Litigation to join our in-house team. This role places you close to the business, partnering with divisional leaders to evaluate claims, manage risk, and resolve disputes on a day-to-day basis.

As you grow in this role, you will own matters, develop legal judgment, appear in court when appropriate, and help balance legal risk with business objectives in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid work schedule.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in the U.S.
• 0–5+ years of legal experience with a strong litigation background.
• Experience in insurance defense, construction defect, bodily injury, real estate litigation, or related practice areas preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide business partnership, integrating legal expertise with corporate strategy.
• Embrace legal tech, AI-driven tools, cybersecurity, and data privacy strategies.
• Draft, review, and support execution of standard agreements and legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with templates and policies.
• Drive litigation, investigations, regulatory filings, and compliance activities, assisting with fact gathering and discovery.
• Perform legal research, issue analysis, and due‑diligence activities, preparing memoranda and recommendations for senior attorneys.
• Maintain accurate matter documentation and records, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Identify and escalate complex, high‑risk issues to senior attorneys promptly.
• Partner with business teams on routine legal questions and matters.
• Develop legal judgment and skills through hands‑on experience and mentorship, increasing responsibility over time.
• Drive team efficiency by updating templates, checklists, and playbooks as directed.
