Role Description

The Senior Litigation Counsel is a full-time, in office position based in Fort Lauderdale, FL,. This role involves managing complex civil litigation matters from initial case assessment through trial or resolution, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery, and overseeing case strategy. The Senior Litigation Counsel will conduct legal research, analyze factual and legal issues, prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials, and collaborate with partners and other team members to drive favorable outcomes. Day-to-day responsibilities include advising clients on litigation risk and strategy, negotiating settlements, coordinating with experts and co-counsel, and ensuring that all filings and deadlines are met. The role also includes mentoring junior attorneys or staff, contributing to firm strategy discussions, and maintaining high professional and ethical standards in client representation.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law, including civil litigation, procedural rules, and substantive legal principles relevant to commercial and business disputes.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex Legal Issues and provide clear, practical guidance and risk assessments to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Experience delivering high-quality Legal Advice in contentious matters, including counseling clients on strategy, settlement options, and trial considerations.
• Proficiency in handling matters before Courts, including drafting persuasive filings, managing discovery, arguing motions, and participating in mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Advanced Negotiation skills for settlement discussions, mediations, and resolution of disputes, with a focus on achieving efficient, favorable outcomes.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in Florida (or eligibility for prompt admission).
• 7+ years of progressively responsible litigation experience, ideally including complex commercial, business, or multi-party civil matters.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, strong legal research abilities, and meticulous attention to detail in drafting and case management.
