Job summary

WOW! is seeking an Engineer III, Linux and Virtualization Infrastructure to design and implement scalable data center platforms.

You will build, deploy, and operate Linux-based systems, virtualization clusters, and storage integrations across multiple data centers to support customers and internal teams. You will lead efforts to bring new technologies into production, ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization, and mentor teammates.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of related Linux systems experience.
• Expertise with Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Strong networking fundamentals and SAN understanding.
• Knowledge of virtualization and containerization (VMware, Proxmox, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience managing complex infrastructure projects.
• Experience with Windows OS and MS Office.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and in a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS or equivalent (not required).

Responsibilities

• Build and modernize infrastructure across data centers.
• Design, integrate, and maintain virtualization and storage platforms.
• Manage virtualization clusters and capacity planning.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and monitoring.
• Translate requirements into OS, CPU, memory, storage, and I/O needs.
• Maintain Fibre Channel, VXLAN, and NAS solutions.
• Ensure backups per established policies.
• Serve as an engineering resource to NOC and operations teams.
• Document system designs and mentor colleagues.
• Maintain lab environments and test new hardware and software.
