Job summary

North Point Technology is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to support a mission-critical enterprise ICAM system in a classified environment. The role requires strong Linux expertise with cloud infrastructure experience and a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

You will provide Tier II support, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with development teams to maintain security, reliability, and operational availability across development and production environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Willing and able to obtain a polygraph within the customer’s required timeline.
• Experience with Linux systems administration and infrastructure management practices.
• Experience with AWS (S3, EC2, Reserved Instances).
• Familiarity with network troubleshooting across OSI layers 4–7.
• Experience with Agile collaboration tools including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier II support for customer-facing operational issues, performing root cause analysis and mitigation.
• Review user metrics, system health, and overall performance, coordinating with the development team.
• Develop scripts and leverage playbook-based automation to accomplish tasks; manage COTS and GOTS software across environments.
• Interface with customers and external technical teams to diagnose and resolve access issues.
• Ensure compliance with security policies across environments and coordinate with Enterprise Services.
