Job summary

North Point Technology is seeking a Systems Engineer with Linux administration experience to support mission operations across cloud and on-premise environments. The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph post-hire.

You will lead system changes, work with government and contractor points of contact, and maintain security documentation while ensuring sustainment of critical infrastructure. Strong scripting and HPC experience preferred.

Qualifications

Systems Engineer (Top Secret/SCI with agreement to obtain CI Poly Clearance Required)

North Point Technology is looking to hire a Systems Engineer with Linux system administration experience to support cloud and on-premise systems within a mission operations environment. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph post-hire. The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience with installation, configuration, administration, support, and maintenance of mission-critical systems in both cloud and on-premise environments, contributing to the operation and sustainment of a geospatial intelligence solution supporting government end users.

Responsibilities:

The Systems Engineer will take a leadership role in system changes and improvements, working directly with government and contractor points of contact to troubleshoot issues and proactively recommend configuration changes to improve system performance. The role involves regularly collaborating with stakeholders to maintain system security compliance, authoring and updating operational and security documentation including troubleshooting guides and standard operating procedures, and supporting day-to-day sustainment of mission-critical infrastructure.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Linux system administration, including provisioning end users
• Managing and configuring Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments
• Building, optimizing, and maintaining multi-node environments that run parallel workloads
• Linux cluster administration using Slurm and MPI to support High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems
• Reviewing STIG/IAVA scan results and remediating identified vulnerabilities
• Performing Virtual Machine backups and snapshots
• Supporting Information System Contingency Plan (ISCP) exercises in coordination with Security teams
• Scripting for administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and automation
• Knowledge of systems architecture, software development, and software sustainment practices

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Red Hat certification(s)
• Agile certification(s)
• Administration of team collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Experience with NGA networking environments
