Apiphani is a technology-enabled managed services company focused on Linux systems administration in a fully remote role within the United States. The Linux Systems Administrator will automate tasks with Ansible, patch servers, and support cloud environments (AWS/Azure) while collaborating with delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on systems engineering and administration in Linux, networking, and OS.
• Experience in 24/7 enterprise IT environments with mature IT processes is a plus.
• Solid IPv4 networking knowledge and RHEL CLI proficiency.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
• Proficient with Ansible playbooks and ad-hoc commands.
• Ability to manage users and groups; strong documentation habits.
• Proficient in vi editor; experienced with RHEL/CentOS/AlmaLinux/Rocky Linux.
• Independent work style with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer Linux systems and automate tasks with Ansible.
• Patch servers and monitor automation performance.
• Improve operations through tooling and automation.
• Execute projects, track progress, and report findings.
• Perform root-cause analysis with delivery teams and clients.
• Engage stakeholders and maintain relationships for collaboration.
• Manage users, groups, and permissions in Linux environments.
• Administer AWS/Azure volumes, cron jobs, and networking.
• Troubleshoot DNS, NetworkManager, and DHCP configurations.
• Document changes in the ticketing system.
• There may be occasional weekend or evening work.
