Edgesource is a DoD-focused technology service provider seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and sustain Linux-based infrastructure supporting development and mission environments. The role spans physical servers, virtual machines, containers, networks, storage, and security controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Cybersecurity or related discipline; equivalent technical experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, patch, upgrade, and troubleshoot Linux servers and workstations.
• Support enterprise Linux distributions (RHEL, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, Debian).
• Manage users, permissions, services, packages, repositories, filesystems, storage, SSH, certificates, and resources.
• Monitor system health, capacity, availability, and performance.
• Diagnose hardware, OS, storage, network, and application issues.
• Deploy and manage Linux VMs with KVM, Proxmox, VMware; configure networking, storage, templates, snapshots.
• Deploy and support containerized apps with Docker/Podman; support Kubernetes/K3s.
• Assist development teams with deployment, runtime config, and troubleshooting.
• Configure TCP/IP networking, DNS, routing, firewalls, proxies; troubleshoot HTTP/HTTPS, REST, WebSockets.
• Work with teams to connect apps and external systems; support rapid integration of new tech.
