Job summary

Motion Recruitment seeks a Senior Systems Engineer – Linux/Cloud Infrastructure to support hosting infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments in a hybrid setup between the San Francisco Bay Area and Scottsdale, AZ.

The role covers Linux/Windows administration, virtualization, storage, data center operations, and on-call rotations. You will mentor junior engineers and ensure change management processes are followed, while applying security patches and documenting procedures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Red Hat Linux system administration experience.
• Working knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudWatch).
• Scripting experience in Bash.
• Experience in a medium-to-large enterprise environment.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform systems engineering, installation, configuration, and administration across Linux, Windows, virtualization, storage, and data center environments.
• Implement systems monitoring for availability and performance.
• Provide Tier III production support and root-cause analysis.
• Apply security patches and lifecycle management.
• Create and maintain technical docs and procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotations and mentor junior engineers.
• Follow formal change management processes.
