Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to lead an enterprise infrastructure team supporting large-scale production environments in Reston, VA. The role focuses on on-prem and cloud operations, ensuring availability, security, and performance of mission-critical systems while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or 12 years with a high school diploma.
• Extensive experience administering Linux systems in large-scale production environments.
• Experience with reporting, performance dashboards, capacity planning, and technical documentation.
• Experience designing, migrating, and upgrading enterprise Linux infrastructure.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for on-premises and cloud-based data centers (AWS/Azure).
• Create system images, provision servers, patch management, reporting, and SOP development.
• Script and automate tasks, perform advanced system configuration, and support production environments.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and uphold SLAs.
