Job summary
Bitdeer Technologies Group seeks a hands-on Linux System Engineer to build, operate, and optimize the compute and storage environment for the IC Lab in San Jose, CA. You will own day-to-day system administration, automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and performance.
The role requires 5+ years of Linux admin experience, strong scripting skills, and storage expertise with NetApp, Ceph, and ZFS.
Qualifications
- 5+ years Linux system administration experience.
- Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
- Proficient in Shell scripting; Python or Perl a plus.
- Experience with NetApp, Ceph, and ZFS storage.
- Familiar with Nagios, Zabbix, and Prometheus monitoring.
- Knowledge of Openlava or Slurm for scheduling.
- RHCE/CCNA preferred; strong troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and optimize Linux-based systems.
- Develop and maintain Shell scripts for automation.
- Manage storage systems: NetApp, Ceph, ZFS.
- Implement provisioning and config management automation.
- Deploy and monitor system performance with Nagios/Zabbix/Prometheus.
- Administer resource scheduling for workload management.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues for high availability.
- Apply networking and security best practices.
- Maintain documentation of configurations and procedures.
