Job summary

Bitdeer Technologies Group in San Jose, CA is seeking a hands-on Linux System Engineer to build, operate, and optimize the compute and storage environment for its IC Lab. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 5+ years of Linux system administration experience (CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
• Proficient in scripting (Shell; Python/Perl a plus) and automation tools (Ansible, PXE, Kickstart).
• Experience with storage systems (NetApp, Ceph, ZFS) and system monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus).
• Knowledge of resource scheduling (Openlava, Slurm) and networking/security best practices.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Linux System Engineer to build, operate, and optimize the Linux compute and storage environment supporting Bitdeer’s IC Lab in San Jose, California. This role owns day-to-day system administration, automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting for the lab’s engineering infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance for its workloads.

Requirements

• Knowledgeable in resource scheduling (Openlava, Slurm) and networking/security best practices (RHCE/CCNA preferred).


• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with an innovative mindset to drive system improvements.


• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, able to perform under pressure.
