Job summary
Nightwing seeks a skilled Linux Systems Engineer to design, build, and maintain core services within a Linux-based virtualization stack in Sterling, VA. You will install and monitor Linux OS, implement security measures, and automate patching while addressing issues before end users notice them.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on Linux engineering, strong scripting skills in Python and Bash, and experience with VPNs, firewalls, encryption, and configuration management tools such as
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on Linux systems engineering experience.
- Proficient in Python scripting and Bash automation.
- Experience with VPN services, firewalls, and network configs.
- Knowledge of encryption technologies including PKI and digital certificates.
- Familiarity with observability tools and log analysis.
- Experience with automation tooling and system provisioning (Ansible / SaltStack).
- Ability to obtain TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
