Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a talented engineer to design and develop enterprise Linux system software for our Falcon Host cloud and on-prem deployments in Austin. This role focuses on high-concurrency, low-level system programming in a distributed team.

You will drive design reviews, mentor engineers, and resolve complex incidents while shipping reliable features across large-scale environments. This hybrid role requires 2–3 days on-site per week.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C/C++ with relevant experience.
• Experience in Linux development with high concurrency and reliability.
• Understanding of low-level kernel internals and memory usage.
• Strong kernel and system software debugging skills.
• Experience delivering major features in a team.
• Ability to work in a distributed team and communicate clearly.
• Strong problem-solving and design instincts.
• Ability to influence direction via design docs and prototypes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience applying AI to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise Linux system software for large-scale servers and cloud.
• Drive architecture proposals and lead design reviews.
• Represent technical position in cross-organizational planning; communicate tradeoffs.
• Participate in planning; scope work and identify dependencies.
• Mentor junior engineers through feedback and code reviews.
• Investigate production incidents and document failure modes at fleet scale.
• Champion end-to-end testing and validation for critical components.
