Job summary

CHAOS Industries, based in Los Angeles, seeks a Senior IT Systems Administrator with deep Linux expertise to design, secure, and operate the Linux infrastructure that our engineering teams rely on. You will ensure uptime and data protection in a defense‑minded environment.

As a senior member of IT, you will own Linux server architecture, automation with Ansible and Python, and integration with identity services.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive Linux server administration experience.
• Experience with DISA STIG/CIS baselines and NIST/CMMC compliance.
• Strong scripting in Bash and Python; automation with Ansible.
• Experience integrating Linux with Active Directory/LDAP/Kerberos.
• Ability to lead infrastructure projects and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Architect, administer, and maintain Linux server environments (physical, virtual, cloud).
• Design automation and configuration management with Ansible, shell, and Python.
• Manage security baselines and hardening (SELinux, auditd, FIPS where required).
• Deploy and manage Linux workloads in Azure and AWS; support containers.
• Lead incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and drive permanent fixes.
• Mentor junior staff and drive infrastructure projects from planning to delivery.
• Support compliance audits and maintain runbooks and documentation.
• Travel minimal up to ~10% for office/site visits.
