Job summary

Vast, a leader in next-generation space infrastructure, seeks a Senior Linux Systems Administrator in Long Beach to design, deploy, and maintain Linux workstations and servers. You will build Puppet manifests, create Ubuntu images, and support developers while solving Tier 2/3 issues to ensure scalable and secure operations.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, automate infrastructure with Terraform, and contribute to IAM integration, monitoring, and patch management in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Linux system administration in production environments.
• 3+ years with Puppet in production.
• Proficient in Bash or Python scripting.
• 2+ years with Git.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain Puppet manifests and modules for configuration.
• Create and maintain standardized Ubuntu imaging processes.
• Troubleshoot advanced system and application issues (Tier 2/3).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for workstation improvements and patching.
• Automate infrastructure and deployment tasks using Terraform or similar tools.
• Contribute to identity and access management systems (LDAP/AD).
• Document best practices, configurations, and procedures.
