Job summary

J&T Business Consulting seeks an experienced Linux System Administrator (Level 2) in Annapolis Junction, MD, to provide comprehensive systems administration and infrastructure support. Must hold Active TS/SCI with Polygraph; a Bachelor's degree (or 15 years of equivalent) and extensive Linux experience are required.

Responsibilities include configuring Linux and Windows, troubleshooting, hardware provisioning, STE data-transfer support, and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with a current Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline plus at least 10 years of Systems Administration experience on programs/contracts of similar scope and complexity, OR 15 years of relevant Systems Administration experience without a degree (5 additional years substituting for the degree).
• Linux Administration: Strong hands-on experience administering CentOS 7, Rocky Linux 9, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 9).
• Hardware & Operations: Experience with physical server/workstation installations, refreshes, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Customer Processes: Familiarity with Secure the Enterprise (STE) tasks and authorized data transfer workflows.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, patch, and maintain enterprise Linux and Windows OS.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting and incident diagnosis.
• Perform hardware/software installations, upgrades, and server/workstation migrations.
• Support STE tasks and secure data transfer processes.
• Optimize system operations and capacity planning.
• Manage ticket escalations and track hardware dispatch resolutions.
• Maintain network components and OS security enhancements.
