Job summary

BCT LLC is seeking a System Administrator III to support a large-scale Linux system, including installation of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for compute, network, memory, and storage components.

The candidate must possess an active TS/SCI with POLY and have a strong background in system security, SR&A, and performance enhancements to improve reliability. This role is based in Annapolis, MD and offers competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Fifteen (15) years' experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; five (5) years of additional Systems Administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Active TS/SCI with POLY clearance is required.
• Experience with large-scale Linux cluster environments and administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution.
• Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
• Configure UNIX and Windows operating systems and load operating system software; troubleshoot and maintain network components.
• Monitor day-to-day operations, perform capacity planning, and optimize resource utilization.
• Provide detailed analysis of escalated tickets to management and customers.
