Job summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) seeks a Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer for a hybrid, full-time role in New York City.

You will design, implement, and maintain global Linux infrastructure, driving security and automation across on-prem and cloud environments. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of experience, strong Linux, Python development skills, and a track record of solving complex production issues.

Qualifications

10+ years of comparable systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or software engineering experience.
Extensive hands-on experience with Linux-based operating systems in large-scale production environments.
Demonstrated development experience with Python.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities at both the host and network level.
Experience using diagnostic, tracing, and troubleshooting tools to identify complex infrastructure and networking issues.
Experience with Linux configuration management tools and practices.
Familiarity with automated builds, software deployment, and CI/CD systems.
Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture, systems integration, and production operations.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across global engineering teams and business functions.
Ability to work independently on complex technical problems while contributing effectively within a collaborative engineering organization.

Responsibilities

Design, maintain, and improve the firm's global infrastructure across datacenters, cloud environments, and offices.
Advance infrastructure security framework within a fast-paced, large-scale technology environment.
Design, implement, integrate, and support Linux-based infrastructure systems.
Troubleshoot complex host and network issues to identify root causes and remediation.
Support and improve Linux operating systems and configuration management practices.
Develop automation and infrastructure tooling using Python to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Contribute to automated build, software deployment, and CI/CD processes.
Collaborate with engineers to design and implement infrastructure solutions.
Support DNS, DHCP, and Kerberos services; ensure Windows-Linux interoperability.
