Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a senior kernel engineer to set the technical direction for its Linux kernel team, balancing architecture and hands-on coding. You will tackle complex kernel problems, mentor engineers, and deliver production-ready infrastructure at scale.

You will lead deep-dive analysis, backport CVEs, and drive critical kernel projects from design through upstream contributions, with a focus on memory management and virtualization for AI/HPC workloads.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals including memory management, scheduler, I/O subsystems.
• Strong C programming skills and kernel development workflow experience.
• Experience evaluating kernel security vulnerabilities (CVE analysis).
• Ability to set technical direction and drive projects end-to-end.
• Track record of upstream Linux kernel contributions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead root-cause analysis of OS/hardware issues and backport CVEs.
• Architect and lead critical kernel projects from design to production.
• Develop kernel code with upstream-first mindset and review peers’ work.
• Contribute across memory management, scheduler, networking, storage, GPU subsystems.
• Design virtualization features for GPU-accelerated AI/HPC workloads; optimize latency and scale.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers.
