Job summary

UF Information Technology (UFIT) in Gainesville, FL, is seeking an Advanced Linux Infrastructure Platform Engineer to join the Infrastructure & Communication Technology team. You will lead medium to large projects, coordinate teams, and manage enterprise infrastructure and software systems with a focus on automation and efficient operations.

The role demands strong Linux expertise, PeopleSoft maintenance, and experience with automation tooling (Ansible, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of relevant experience.
• Experience with automation, scripting, and configuration management systems such as Puppet, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, and Python.
• Expertise with Terraform, load balancer configurations, and large-scale Linux administration.

Responsibilities

• Linux administration of enterprise applications.
• Maintenance and administration of PeopleSoft.
• Scripting and automation using Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, and Python.
• Large-scale Linux system administration.
• Assist Linux Platform Team in architecture and implementation.
• Provide leadership and guidance on enterprise systems administration.
• Mentor and develop other staff members.
