Job summary
University of Florida is seeking an Advanced Linux Infrastructure Platform Engineer to join UFIT on the Gainesville campus. You will lead medium to large projects, coordinate teams, and manage enterprise‑wide Linux systems, PeopleSoft, and automation efforts with Ansible, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and Python.
The role focuses on architecture, deployment, monitoring, and optimization of critical infrastructure in a large university IT environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and 4 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with large-scale Linux infrastructure and enterprise applications.
- Experience with automation and configuration management (Puppet, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, Python).
- Experience configuring load balancer appliances and virtual servers.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
Responsibilities
- Linux administration of enterprise applications.
- Maintain PeopleSoft and related systems.
- Develop automation scripts using Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, and Python.
- Lead large-scale Linux administration and projects.
- Assist Linux Platform Team in architecture and implementation.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to staff.
