Job summary

CAC I International is seeking a Senior Linux Engineer in Chantilly, VA for a hybrid on-site role within the EITaaS program. The position focuses on designing, implementing, and managing complex Linux-based systems and infrastructure to support DoD IT services.

You will lead and mentor junior engineers, automate Linux environments, and collaborate with cross-functional IT teams while ensuring high security and compliance across enterprise Linux distributions in VM-enabled environments.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required.
• Active DoD Secret clearance
• 12+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience).
• Security+ CE Certification (or other IAT Level II or III Certification) at a minimum; RHCE, or LPIC-3
• Demonstrated experience with systems administration in Linux environments (RHCE equivalence) or Windows Server environments (MS Security Engineer/Solution Architect equivalence).
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience installing, configuring, securing, integrating, upgrading and troubleshooting SE Linux/CentOS (prefer some hands‑on experience with AlmaLinux or Rocky Linux too) – preferably in VM environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide analysis, design, development, and integration of hardware, software, and system requirements for an integrated EIT solution.
• Develops system test requirements, strategies, devices, and systems with strong cybersecurity focus.
• Install new software releases, upgrades, patches, and resolve software problems.
• Perform system backups and recovery and maintain data integrity.
• Mentor or lead others and design/implement large-scale Linux infrastructure solutions.
• Manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
