Job summary

DRW, a diversified trading firm headquartered in Chicago, seeks a Senior Linux Engineer to join the Linux Engineering Team. You will help build a scalable, low-latency Linux environment that supports trading desks, developers, and internal users, with a strong emphasis on automation and reliability.

Ideal candidates have extensive Linux experience in large-scale HA environments (10,000+ servers), proficiency with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet), and solid knowledge of Red

Qualifications

• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
• Scripting/automation with Bash and Python; other high-level languages OK.
• Extensive Linux support in a large (10,000+ server) high-availability environment.
• Strong knowledge of Red Hat and Debian-based platforms.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, VMware, and OpenStack; high-performance networking concepts.
• Ability to tune and debug Linux systems for low-latency trading workloads.
• Solid understanding of IP networking, routing, and multicast.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a global Linux engineering team to coordinate work and on-call schedules.
• Serve as liaison between Linux team and trading desks and internal teams.
• Configure, deploy, and maintain Linux environments in a declarative, repeatable manner.
• Monitor health and troubleshoot day-to-day issues across the Linux stack.
• Package applications and maintain software repositories.
• Automate repetitive system administration tasks.
• Evaluate new hardware and software technologies or solutions.
