Job summary

OVT group in Santa Clara, CA seeks a Sr. Linux Engineer to secure and optimize our on‑prem Linux server and VDI infrastructure, including architecture, planning, deployment, and support.

You will drive automation with Ansible/AWX, write scripts, document procedures, and lead incident response, root‑cause analysis, and change management, collaborating with IT teams to boost reliability. Experience with EDA compute environments and IBM LSF is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years as a Linux Engineer; senior candidates 10+ years.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux (RedHat/Ubuntu) and Satellite.
• Monthly patching and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute system projects, automate manual processes, and document configurations.
• Lead administration, maintenance, and support of Linux server and VDI environments.
• Design and implement Ansible/AWX automation for provisioning and orchestration.
• Administer EDA compute environments and IBM LSF scheduling.
• Incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and knowledge management.
• Documentation of automation scripts and procedures; support change management.
• Proactive performance monitoring and security compliance.
