Job summary

SpaceXSI in Southaven, MS is seeking a Senior Linux Data Center Technician to maintain the health of our server and network infrastructure across data centers and global points of presence. You will monitor MTTR/MTTD, respond to emergencies on-site, and optimize intake and repair processes.

Responsibilities include rack and stack, inventory, fiber optics, power cabling, server and switch installation, Jira-based ticketing, and creating SOPs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years on server/storage/compute/network hardware.
• 5+ years troubleshooting servers and networking.
• 5+ years inventory management of server equipment.
• Must pass pre-employment drug and background checks.
• Ability to work evenings/weekends; on-call as needed.
• Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Report to site during initial construction and update engineering as needed.
• Troubleshoot and monitor servers and network in data centers and POPs.
• Rack and stack data center network equipment.
• Manage warehouse inventory and assets in internal system.
• Label cables and manage fiber/optic connections.
• Install power, cabling, servers, and switches; handoff to provisioning.
• Manage data center tickets via Jira; coordinate with teams.
• Create and maintain SOPs and task documentation.
• Receipt and decommission data center hardware and manage vendor returns.
• Maintain spare parts inventory for data centers.
• Define and implement network layouts inside data centers.
