RTX’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center seeks a Senior System Integration & Test Engineer to advance radar capability development. You will plan, test, and troubleshoot in a Linux-based lab, collaborating across disciplines to ensure robust, reliable systems.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in STEM, proficiency in MATLAB/Python, and hands-on experience with hardware/software testing in lab environments, with a willingness to travel

Qualifications

  • Requires STEM degree and at least 5 years’ relevant experience.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, Shell, Linux/Unix.
  • Experience with hardware/software testing in an engineering lab.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, executing, and documenting system integration and test activities for a radar program in a laboratory environment.
  • Perform hands-on testing and integration of hardware and software in Linux-based environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to address technical challenges.
  • Develop and execute detailed test plans, procedures, and reports per program requirements.
  • Support system-level test readiness reviews, test execution, and post-test analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and program processes.
  • Willingness to travel 5–10% domestically.

What You Will Do
  • Assist in planning, executing, and documenting system integration and test activities for a radar program in a laboratory environment.
  • Perform hands-on testing and integration of hardware and software, with a focus on systems running Linux-based operating environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues related to software, hardware, and operating systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to identify and address technical challenges.
  • Develop and execute detailed test plans, procedures, and reports in accordance with program requirements.
  • Support system-level test readiness reviews, test execution, and post-test analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and program-specific processes.
  • Willingness to support 5-10% domestic travel.
Qualifications
  • You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience MATLAB, Python, Shell scripting, Linux, and/or Unix.
  • Experience with hardware and/or software testing in an engineering lab environment.
  • Experience with networking principles.
  • Experience with Systems Integration, test procedures, test plans, test scripts, data analysis, and/or verification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with test equipment and tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and data acquisition systems.
  • Experience working with X-Band radar systems.
  • Knowledge of electronic hardware configuration and installation, software installations on hardware devices, network configurations, operations of software in String/HWIL facility.
  • Knowledge of RF systems, radar signal processing, and real-time systems.
  • Practical knowledge of system security concepts and tools in Linux environments.
