Job summary

RTX’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) team in Portsmouth, RI seeks a Senior Systems Engineer for Naval Radar engineering. You will analyze radar data, develop requirements, integrate hardware and software, and verify system performance across design, lab, and field environments.

This role involves cross-disciplinary collaboration, solving complex challenges, and contributing to integration and test efforts supporting submarines, torpedoes, and combat systems with a clear path

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in STEM and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with MBSE, DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, and/or other digital engineering tools.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or other programming languages; ability to present technical findings.

Raytheon’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking Senior Systems Engineers interested in Naval Radar engineering. Our Portsmouth, RI team primarily supports programs in the aval undersea and Naval surface domains, including sensor systems, mine countermeasures, submarines, torpedoes, combat systems, and ship architecture/integration.

Our Naval Radar engineers perform radar data analysis and tracking, develop and manage system requirements, integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. Every day is a different set of challenges to overcome. You'll be expected to collaborate across disciplines and partner to implement solutions. In this role, you'll get to know a little bit about every aspect of the system and have a direct hand in making it all work together supporting teams of engineers engaged in integration and test efforts.

Qualifications

You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with MBSE, DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, and/or other digital engineering tools.

We Prefer:

  • Experience with identifying root causes of system failures through detailed diagnostics, implement timely fixes to restore functionality, and develop preventative measures to avoid recurrence Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or other programing languages. Experience presenting technical findings, analyses, and solutions to leadership and customers.

Salary

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
