Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Unix/Linux Administrator to support a federal program focused on enterprise infrastructure operations, cybersecurity, and mission-critical application support. The role is hybrid in the Washington, DC area.

Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining RHEL/Oracle Linux environments, monitoring performance, patch management, and backing up systems, as well as supporting third-party apps and automation projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience administering enterprise Unix/Linux environments.
• Strong expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Linux, virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V), Git, and shell scripting (Bash, Python).
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; must meet DoD IAT Level II certification requirements (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GSEC, SSCP, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Oracle Linux environments.
• Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, patch management, and backup administration.
• Support third-party application installation, automation initiatives, and project-based infrastructure deployments.
