Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Linux Engineer to support a large-scale DoD enterprise environment, focusing on RHEL infrastructure, automation, and reliability across dispersed NOC locations.

Ideal candidates have hands-on Linux automation, experience with Ansible, AAP, Satellite, VMware, and Azure, and must hold an active Secret Clearance. Onsite work at Norfolk, VA is preferred, with other centers in San Diego and Pearl Harbor.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance
• CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent)
• Extensive experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8) in enterprise environments
• Strong experience with Linux automation and scripting
• Ability to work onsite at designated Network Operations Centers: Norfolk, VA (preferred); San Diego, CA; Pearl Harbor, HI

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Support large-scale Linux server deployments, lifecycle management, patching, and configuration management.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Ansible, AAP, scripting, and related technologies.
• Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, incident response, and root cause analysis for production environments.
• Implement and maintain DISA STIG compliance, security hardening, and vulnerability remediation across Linux platforms.
• Support hybrid cloud and virtualized infrastructure using Azure and VMware.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and cybersecurity teams using Agile methodologies.
• Support Red Hat Satellite for provisioning, software lifecycle management, and patch management.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and technical solutions.
