Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Unix/Linux Administrator to support a federal government program focused on enterprise infrastructure operations, cybersecurity, and mission-critical application support. This position is hybrid in the Washington, DC area.

You will install, configure, administer, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Oracle Linux environments, perform monitoring, patch management, backup administration, and support automation initiatives and project-based infrastructure

Qualifications

• 5+ years of enterprise Unix/Linux administration experience.
• Strong expertise in RHEL, Oracle Linux, virtualization, Git, and Bash/Python scripting.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; security clearance or ability to obtain Public Trust; DoD IAT Level II certification.

Responsibilities

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Unix/Linux Administrator to support a federal government program focused on enterprise infrastructure operations, cybersecurity, and mission-critical application support. This position is hybrid in Washington, DC area.

Responsibilities for the Unix/Linux Administrator include:

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Oracle Linux environments.
• Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, patch management, and backup administration.
• Support third-party application installation, automation initiatives, and project-based infrastructure deployments.

Required Qualifications for the Unix/Linux Administrator include:

• 5+ years of experience administering enterprise Unix/Linux environments.
• Strong expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Linux, virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V), Git, and shell scripting (Bash, Python).
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; must meet DoD IAT Level II certification requirements (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GSEC, SSCP, or equivalent).

Compensation for the Unix/Linux Administrator include:

Salary Range: $105,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Sick Leave as required by law
