Welocalize is seeking a linguist reviewer for Assamese translation who will QA translations, edit for accuracy, and provide feedback to translators. You will help maintain glossaries, style guides, and linguistic workflows within a global, virtual team.

The role requires a university degree in translation or linguistics, 2+ years in translation or localization, and native Assamese with strong English skills. You will influence quality KPIs and participate in onboarding and training.

• University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of experience in translation, review, or localization.
• Native fluency in Assamese; fluent English (written and spoken).
• Solid understanding of the localization process and review workflows.
• Proficiency in standard software (Windows, MS Office).
• Hands-on experience with CAT tools (XTM, SDL Studio, PolyGlot, MateCat, ATMS, fbCAT) and Jira.

Responsabilidades

• Perform translations and review QA of Assamese translation tasks.
• Perform copy-editing and linguistic checks for accuracy, consistency, and style adherence.
• Provide feedback to translators and freelancers to improve quality.
• Manage language assets (glossaries, style guides, work instructions) and ensure they are up to date.
• Respond to linguistic queries from translators and project managers.
• Coordinate with the localization team to clarify terminology and style issues.
• Assist onboarding, development, and training of new linguists and freelancers.
• Contribute to development of new review and quality processes.
• Meet or exceed quality and productivity KPIs defined for the role.
• Achieve goals set by the Squad Lead / Language Lead.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performing Translations / Review and quality assurance (QA) of Assamese translation Tasks.
• Performing copy-editing and linguistic checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and style adherence.
• Providing feedback to translators and freelancers to improve overall quality.
• Managing and maintaining language assets (glossaries, style guides, work instructions), ensuring they are accurate, consistent, and up to date.
• Managing and responding to linguistic queries from translators, project managers, etc.
• Ensuring smooth collaboration within the translation team by clarifying terminology, style, and linguistic issues.
• Supporting the onboarding, development, and training of new linguists and freelancers when required.
• Participating in the development of new and improved review and quality processes.
• Meeting or exceeding quality and productivity KPIs as defined for the role.
• Achieving the goals set by the Squad Lead / Language Lead.

REQUIEREMENTS Education Level

• University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in translation, review, or localization.
• Native fluency in Assamese Language.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Solid understanding of the localization process and review workflows.
• Proficiency in standard software (Windows, MS Office).
• Hands-on experience with CAT tools (e.g., XTM, SDL Studio, PolyGlot, MateCat, ATMS, fbCAT etc.) and query/issue management tools (e.g., JIRA).
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new localization tools.

Skills
