Job summary

Electric Co in Rogersville, TN is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to perform construction, operation and maintenance of the electric distribution and transmission system. You will work safely, read staking sheets, and coordinate with Foreman and Apprentices.

Requires DOL Journeyman certification, high school diploma or GED, and a Class A CDL; 4–5 years in the electric utility field; willingness to work storms and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• DOL Journeyman Lineman Certification required.
• TVPPA or SELCAT Apprenticeship Program or equivalent including course work in electricity, mathematics, and mechanical fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Performs diversified work of erection and repair of distribution and transmission lines of all classes and voltage, including energized lines.
• Constructs underground and overhead lines, including pole setting, stringing, and connections.
• Maintains underground and overhead systems by replacing transformers, breakers, insulators, and related equipment.
• Inspects lines for maintenance and performs work on energized lines.
• Trims trees and clears right-of-way as needed.
• Accounts for materials used and stocks trucks; loads/unloads materials.
• Operates company vehicles safely and adheres to safety policies.
• Passes knowledge to Apprentice Linemen and participates in safety meetings.
