Job summary

BD, a global medical technology leader, is seeking a Senior Line Shift Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations on the 6pm-6am shift in Sandy, UT. You will oversee production teams, mentor staff, manage staffing, and drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the line.

This on-site role requires a High School Diploma/GED, 3 years of manufacturing experience in a highly automated environment, and 1 year of people leadership.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • BA/BS in Science, Industrial management, Business, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience in a highly automated environment.
  • 1 year of people-leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate resources and priorities within the shift.
  • Make final decision on staffing of the entire shift.
  • Promptly address any safety issues or incidents.
  • Responsible for training plans within line for assigned shift.
  • Daily touchpoints with line associates to support the Equipment Owner (EO) program including Safety, Quality, AM defect tagging, 5S, CILTs, Center lining, TPM, breakdowns and top losses.
  • Provide regular, timely, and specific feedback to associates.
  • Ensure open flow of communication between production associates and management.
  • Support timely resolution of issues on the line, demonstrating servant leadership and BD values.
  • Prepare and run Tier 1 production meetings and align with the Line Centric Organization (LCO) team.
  • Ensure fair and consistent application of policies; involve HR as needed.
  • Ensure daily PitStops are completed and targets updated on the PVD.
  • Ensure all liner resources support quality or line issues as they arise.
  • Spend 100% of time on the production floor except for meetings or performance discussions.
  • Ensure root cause analysis is conducted timely with appropriate corrective actions.
  • Communicate results and raise issues to the Line Leader.
  • Responsible for Kanban management and work order setup and material reconciliation.
  • Ensure accuracy of quality checks and work order documentation.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Description

The Senior Line Shift Supervisor leads manufacturing operations by overseeing and mentoring production teams, supporting other supervisors, and driving operational performance. This role is responsible for staffing, resource allocation, continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and production standards.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:


  • Coordinate resources and priorities within the shift.

  • Prepare and run Tier 1 production meeting and ensure alignmentwith theLine Centric Organization (LCO) team.

  • Ensure fair and consistent application of company and departmental policies and practices. Works with associates to resolve employee relations issues and concerns; involves HR when needed.

  • Ensure thedaily PitStops arecompleted asexpectedanddaily targets,goalsand issuesare updated on thePrimary Visual Display (PVD).

  • Ensures that alllineresources are properly focused to support any quality or line issues as they occur.

  • Required to spend100% of their time out on the production floor except for whenrequiredto attend necessary meetings or hold performance related conversations with associates.

  • Ensure allroot cause analysisare conductedtimelyandappropriate correctiveactionsare implemented.

  • Communicate results and raise issues to theLineLeader.

  • Responsible foraccurateKanban management and work order set up and material reconciliation.

  • Ensure accuracy of quality checks and work order documentation.

  • Perform other duties as required to address the needs of the business.


Shift:

6pm-6am rotating 12s A shift


Required:


  • High School Diploma/GED


Preferred:


  • BA/BS Degree — Science, Industrial management, Business, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 3 years of manufacturing experience in a highly automated environment

  • 1year ofpeopleleadershipexperience.
