White Lodging at JW Marriott Austin seeks a dedicated culinary professional to support mentoring and daily production. Enjoy advanced scheduling and the flexibility to swap or pick up shifts easily using our app—perfect for achieving better balance while pursuing your passion in the food and beverage industry!

You’ll oversee cooks and apprentices, ensure safe handling, follow health and federal guidelines, and help maintain food and labor costs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of all cooking and preparation equipment.
• Basic cooking techniques including sautéing, broiling, frying, roasting and breakfast cookery.
• Culinary education or apprenticeship preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to stand and move at a fast pace for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Mentor entry-level cooks and apprentices while overseeing daily preparation and production in your food outlet.
• Follow company F&B procedures, health department regulations, and federal guidelines.
• Ensure proper food handling and storage procedures are followed at all times.
• Assist in maintaining food cost and labor cost standards.
• Check freshness of foods and ingredients, ensuring all recipes and portion-use records are followed.
• Monitor and positively influence guest feedback scores through food quality and service consistency.
• Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between coworkers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
