Job summary

Valley Metro in Phoenix is seeking a skilled technician to maintain and repair Light Rail Vehicle electrical, electronic and mechanical systems, ensuring performance and safety. This safety-sensitive role includes shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts; starting pay ranges from $29.96 to $37.45 per hour, with actual rate based on skills and experience.

Candidates need a high school diploma or GED and at least three years of electro-mechanical maintenance experience; valid Arizona driver’s

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Three (3) years of electro-mechanical maintenance experience.
Ability to read electrical schematics and diagnose complex systems.
Valid Arizona driver's license is required.
Equivalents accepted; education cannot substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair LRV systems and components using electrical schematics.
Identify and gather necessary parts; use specialized diagnostic equipment; maintain records and logs.
Update operating software to ensure proper LRV function and performance.
Perform general cleaning and maintenance of tools, parts and equipment.
Cross-train and assist other employees or contractors.
Patrol events; respond to emergencies and recover LRVs.
Complete special projects as assigned.
Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
