Job summary

Valley Metro seeks an LRV maintenance technician to ensure vehicle safety and readiness. You will inspect, repair, and overhaul mechanical components, operate wheel truing and HVAC systems, and keep logs and parts inventory.

The role requires responding to emergencies and supporting colleagues across maintenance disciplines. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and 1 year in transit vehicle mechanical repair; background checks and drug testing apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of transit vehicle mechanical repair experience.
• Experience with HVAC and wheel maintenance.
• Troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Equivalent education/experience; no substitution for experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and replace LRV mechanical components above, below and throughout LRVs.
• Work with HVAC systems and wheel truing equipment.
• Identify and gather parts, safely use and maintain tools and repair logs.
• Rebuild and overhaul LRV parts and equipment, including glass/windshields, HVAC, wheels, etc.
• Cross-train and assist other employees.
• Maintain standby LRVs, move vehicles, respond to emergencies for onsite repairs.
• Complete special projects and staff events as assigned.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature as assigned.
