Job summary

The City of Boston is seeking a Lifeguard to patrol the pool, enforce rules, and ensure patron safety at the municipal facility. Responsibilities include supervising pool operations, teaching swim lessons, coaching youth teams, and assisting with aquatic programs while maintaining sanitary conditions.

Required certifications include Lifeguard Training with First Aid and CPR/AED, and Water Safety Instructor (WSI). Flexible evenings/weekends may be needed.

Qualifications

• Current Lifeguard Training certification (includes First Aid and CPR/AED).
• Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification required.
• Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Guard the pool and supervise patrons to prevent emergencies.
• Conduct pool safety checks and maintain sanitary conditions around pool facilities.
• Teach swim lessons, coach youth swim team, and assist with aquatic programs.
• Maintain accurate pool records including chemical treatments and backwashing when required.
