Sarasota County is seeking experienced lifeguards to oversee daily operations at our county-operated beaches. You will supervise Lifeguard stations, lead Beach Lifeguards, and assist in performance evaluations and training.
The role requires active CPR/AED certifications and open water lifeguard experience, with a commitment to safety. Work hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., seven days a week, with 40 hours weekly and opportunities for advancement.

The starting pay rate is $23.70 (Step 1), benefits begin within 60 days of hire, and there are opportunities for advancement.
Work Hours: Beach hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 7 days a week. Lifeguards work 40 hours per week, with overtime and flexible shifts available.

Ability to frequently lift more than 50 pounds and regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. This position works outdoors, and during a red tide, there may be fumes/airborne particles. There is also a risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five years.
The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as part of the hiring process.
