Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in the United States seeks a Senior Acquisition and Systems Engineer to join the APDA Department. You’ll deliver acquisition planning, requirements analysis, and lifecycle support for DoD, civil, and commercial space programs.

Requires 10–15+ years in systems engineering, DoD compliance, and hands-on experience with SysML, Cameo, DOORS, Jira, Confluence, and SAFe/Scrum; strong communication skills and TS/SCI clearance are required or to be obtained.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, CS, or related technical field; master’s preferred.
• 10–15+ years of related experience with requirements and verification.
• Strong DoD compliance knowledge, Agile/DevSecOps experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering and acquisition support for national security, civil, and commercial customers.
• Create and review RFPs, CDRLs, PWSs, SOOs, and SOWs.
• Lead teams on requirements engineering and analysis for early acquisition activities.
• Participate in requirements development, gathering and documenting stakeholder needs.
• Lead Lifecycle Technical Reviews, Audits, and Milestones.
• Manage Requirements Traceability Matrix to ensure testability and alignment with goals.
• Mentor staff on lifecycle acquisition and systems engineering.
• Evaluate opportunities to apply Digital Engineering concepts.
• Engage in cross-disciplinary teams for system requirements, design, and architecture.
• Perform independent assessments for acquisition milestones and risk analysis.
• Engage with Government source selections, prepare reports and briefings.
